On the day
Once you arrive at the entrance to Flamingo Land, please follow our FlaminGO! helpers instructions, to find where to park.
All runners must register when they arrive, please make sure you leave more than enough time to register. We advise that you arrive at least an hour before the race starts. Registration is located in the plaza, from the car park, follow the arrows down towards the plaza area or ask one of our FlaminGO! helpers for directions. The registration building is located to the right in the plaza – look for the ‘Registration’ sign. Once runners have registered, they will be given their race number. Runners MUST fill in the medical details on the back of the number. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the run. Once you have your number, you can make you way over to the spectator area and the start of the race – come back out of the plaza and follow the signs to the start. There will be a quick speech at 9.50am and then the run will start!
There will be an awards ceremony at 12.30 in our spectator area so make sure you stick around! There will be a goodie bag and a medal for every runner and a selection of special prizes for the first finishers. There is FREE ENTRY to all runners into the zoo after the run has finished, however please note that spectators are still required to pay the normal admission price.
Toilets are located in the plaza – please follow the signs around the park or ask one of our FlaminGO! helpers on the day. Maps are available of the resort on the main Flamingo Land website. There will be food and refreshments available in our spectator area while you wait!
Spectators have two options available to them – they can either pay for zoo entry for the day at one of our turnstiles at the entrance to the Plaza and watch the runners go round the zoo or watch the runners from the spectator area for free. For spectators that pay to go into the park (admissions are the normal price of a day zoo ticket), pay and collect your ticket from the turnstile and show it to one of our FlaminGO! helpers at the far end of the plaza – they will let you through to the zoo area. Please note that access inside the zoo will be limited whilst the run is going on – our FlaminGO! helpers will let you pass into the zoo and through our course at regular intervals, listen out for their instructions!
Animal themed fancy dress is strongly encouraged, come in full-blown lion costume or even just wear a leopard headband, the choice is yours!
The run course consists of two 5k laps past our holiday village, golf course, theme park and zoo areas. The course is multi-terrain, across grassland and paved roads. Runners must be aware that when they approach Dinopark on their second and final lap, they should follow signs for ‘10k’ to left out of the park towards the finish line. Please find a map of the race route below.

Race Day Dos and Don’ts
Runners must not:
- Use a portable music device, like an IPod around the course, this is so runners are able to hear any instructions given to them by the race marshals. Failure to comply will involve disqualification from the run.
