BACTRIAN CAMEL

You can find the Bactrian camel in the Gobi desert and grasslands of Asia, these camels can withstand the very hot temperatures and very cold nights. When they can not find food and drink they can survive on the fat that they store inside the humps and can drink 120 litres of water in one go. A group of camels are called caravans and can be a number of 30 individuals in each group.
Did You Know…
Camels can close their nostrils and have long eyelashes to protect themselves from sandstorms.
Diet –  Herbivores, feeding on grasses, shrubs and leaves.
Threat Status – Critically Endangered
