Guinea pigs

Guinea pigs are large for rodents weighing between 700 and 1200 grams and measuring between 20 and 25 cm. They live an average of 4 to 5 years but some may live as long as 8 years. Guinea pigs are able to breed all year round with birth peaks coming in Spring as many as 5 babies can be produced and they are very popular family pets.
Did you know…
Guinea pigs have poor sight but well developed senses of hearing, smell and touch.
Diet – Mainly Grass
Threat Status – Least Concerned
